Mercedes-Benz
Top-notch announced the other day that he would like a Mercedes Benz and would I give him one?
“Sorry, kid, but no.” I replied.
He didn’t understand why not given that we had just rocked out to Janis Joplin’s Mercedes Benz on the record player and she had asked for any number of things in that song. That started a conversation about satire, poetry and turning a pure operatic voice into something emotionally raw. Mr. CB and I also took the opportunity to manage expectations about things typically not just appearing out of thin air. You know…hard work, tenacity and other such concepts!
Ninja Nuance has decided that she’s going to solve “Corona” by removing bad blood and turning it into good blood, putting it back into the body and checking her success using x-ray. She has constructed a paper arm, cardboard syringes and body presentation cards that she’s “laminated” using packing tape.
Mr. CB. has carved out a private work space for himself and every morning is up hammering away, hanging a different painting of mine to use as a backdrop in his online meetings. I think he should put “for sale” signs on the wall next to them. Perhaps, I am less subtle than he is!
I have 2 unfinished paintings that I’m working on in my wax figure series and they’re going to be great, but I’m also seeing all kinds of inspiration in all kinds of different places. Even my laundry hanging on our clothesline was interesting for a moment.
Above, the kids asked if they could wear our Venetian Carnivale masks and I said ‘Yes.” We had a good laugh and some good stories were told. It occurred to me that I was longing to see some new faces... To the right, a painting I did featuring one of the Carnivale masks…
